I consider this a special occasion dish in that it’s a little more time consuming than most of the food we eat. Having said that, it’s one of the most lovely autumnal feel-good family meals we have cooked.
I’ve included it because we’ve cooked this in both our normal domestic oven and in our wood fired pizza oven. However you decide to make this dish, you’ll not be disappointed.
Serve with garlic bread or home made focaccia, a tomato salad and some nice red wine.
